PB&J Smoothie

This recipe turns the classic sandwich into a protein-rich drink.

Nothing says comfort food like a classic PB&J sandwich…so why not try it in smoothie form? Not only does this creamy, satisfying drink have all the flavors you crave, you can also customize the protein content based on your needs: Just add Greek yogurt for an extra 10 grams of protein on top of the 15 provided by the baseline recipe.

Ingredients

cup milk or soy milk

½

cup strawberries or pitted cherries, fresh or frozen

½

banana

Tbsp. natural peanut butter

Tbsp. jam

½

cup plain low-fat Greek yogurt (optional)

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Place all the ingredients in a blender, except for the jam. Blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.

    Step 2

    Using the back of a spoon or small spatula, swirl the jam around the inside of a glass. Pour in the smoothie and enjoy.
